Twitter has grown into one of the most popular social networking sites in the world today. Many other social networking sites are out there but Twitter stands out because of its short and sweet approach. In other words, Twitter allows you to keep your friends updated and be updated on what's happening with your friends without being buried in a pile of unwanted information.

Twitter is used by people these days for two different purposes. One is to keep in touch with friends and family and the other is to promote their products and services. Either way you decide to use Twitter, the process of getting started is practically the same.

The first thing you have to do is go to the Twitter website and create an account. In order to do so, you just have to provide an email address, a username, and a password. That's all there is to it. Once you've done that, you are ready to start tweeting. However, there is still the little task of finding people to follow and getting people to follow you. There are several ways of accomplishing this, one of which is through your email.

After your register with Twitter, you will be asked for the password to your email account. There is no need to worry as Twitter doesn't save your password; it's used only to access your email address book. Twitter will determine which of your contacts already have an existing Twitter account and will give you the option of following them or not.

You can also manually invite your friends to follow you on Twitter by clicking on the "Invite by Email" button. This is useful if you have other friends who are not listed in your email address book. You can also use this option if you are not comfortable with providing the password to your email account.

Using the "Find People" link at the top of the page is also a good way to locate users who are not in your contact list. You can enter the name or location of the persons you wish to find and Twitter will display a list of matches to your search. This feature is a good way to find friends and relatives with whom you have lost contact over the years.

If you are going to use Twitter as a way to attract clients to your business or to promote your blog, you may also want to invite people you don't know. Naturally, you can't use the "Find People" option since you don't know their names. In this case, you can use the Search function and enter keywords that are relevant to your product or blog. Twitter will display other people's public tweets that are related to your keyword. You can then reply to these tweets, making yourself visible to other users. You can even include a link to your site or blog in your replies.

You can also use other venues to collect Twitter contact information from people, such as online forums, message boards, and other networking websites. With a little bit of patience and resourcefulness, you will soon have a growing list of followers, allowing you to promote your business or expand your social network much more effectively.
